Automation and Hand Crafted Work - What Is The Difference?

Saturday, 11 August 2012 12:38 | Hits: 3766 |

The concept of “AUTOMATION” means the use of control systems and information technologies to reduce the need of hand crafted human work in the production of goods and services.

Generally, the purpose of automation is to increase productivity and improve the quality of a product. Next purpose is also optimization of control system and most importantly is the reduction of manual labour in plants that are dangerous to health. As well solves the automation, except the simplest cases, the problem that require an integrated and systematic approach.

Unfortunately, as with all things, there is a relatively large number of advantages and  disadvantages.

Automation has eliminated these problems:

  • ·Human operators were replaced in tasks that required laborious and monotonous manual labour.
  • ·Human operators no longer have to perform tasks in a dangerous environment (i.e. fire, space, volcanoes, nuclear facilities, underwater, etc.)
  • ·Hard industry became the solution for tasks that were beyond human capabilities of size, weight, speed, endurance, etc.
  • ·The introduction of automation has improved the economics of not only a large number of enterprises, it has also become the engine in the development and strengthening of many counties.

However, it has also led to the emergence of new problems and challenges for mankind and set new issues that raise questions about its future:

  • ·Many people have lost their job, which has led to an increase in unemployment and a resultant increase in social tension in some countries.
  • ·The automation of all desired tacks is limited to the current levels of technical development.
  • ·Automated systems have a threat to the service staff and also it is a great probability to commit error by the work with parts of goods.
  • ·Research and Development costs plus the cost of automating a production line requires  huge investment funds.

The most serious consequence of the “Technosphere” is the biosphere-ecological crisis. A large concentration of high technological plant on a comparatively small area leads to the following problems:

  • ·Exhaustion of resource
  • ·Pollution of atmosphere
  • ·Aggravation of water husbandry strain.
  • ·Degradation of earth resources
  • ·Increase of climate temperature, etc.

Nature can’t absorb, recycle and insert organically the continuously growing volumes of all kind of waste. She tear them away decreased biological diversity and reduce possibility and conditions for safe living humanness in the Earth biosphere. Since the humanness drop in the conflict with a biosphere, accordingly topical questions are:

  • ·The “Technosphere” will be transfigured by the mankind and he will live in a harmony with the biosphere.

Or

  • ·Mankind will be destroyed by the Biosphere.

“Practice is the criterion for truth”, - said philosophy, but she forgot to say that it is stipulated by the morality and ethics of humans. This needs a separate scrutiny and here we will only briefly note that the level of mankind's technical development has exceeded the level of their moral development.

Other important question is that the humanness today is hostages of the “Technosphere”. When we will model the situation that the “Technosphere” will not more exist in the morning, than first half us simple go mad and other half will perish from hunger, thirst and cold. It is sufficient that here we pay attention on the “fortuitous” incidents like conflagration, floods, earthquakes, etc.

However, in spite of continuously threatening perspectives, we are not a supporter of the theories of global collapse, arrival or departure of the Nemesis Planet, or the threat of asteroid. We look to the future with optimism and think that the human change one’s mind in one’s own   deed. We overcome all kinds of apocalyptical moods with a firm confidence that “All will be well!”

We need both objective prediction and correction, and than we can transfigure our environment. You know that we get from nature by our birth a huge potential of the “genetic abilities development” and both that we put on yourself a “technical artificial limb” don’t make us a high intelligent civilisation.

So what can our help?  The heaviest work it is work over himself. We have to change our Culture and all above the Culture of thinking.

Of course it is possible to plunge into great depths of detail, but there are objective methodological means. These methodological means are generalized notions and can be followed by formulation:

  • ·A methodological world-view base as a basis for a thinking culture and a thoroughness of administration. That could help to adjust self-control and responsibility inside of society.
  • ·A historical base of all types of learning throughout time: astronomic, biological, social, etc. This is to find the potential, aims, principles and priorities of development and how to carry out this development in a stable and predictable manner. A deep study of history could supply the detail of all mankind's accumulated positive experience and deliver society from it's mistakes of the past.
  • ·A factological base of the ideologies and technologies that could serve and help mankind most in safely living on Earth, but it should not prevail over mankind and be a master over him.
  • ·An economical base for adjusting the balance between fields and segments. It is also the instrument for achievement of selected aims and will serve for the regulation of markets and provide the metrological consistency of economical theories.
  • ·An information base on all drugs and narcotics. That would help mankind to know and understand the danger from drugs that stupefy human feelings and consciousness.
  • ·Information about war means. How we can advise all problems that came to differ, quarrel and conflicts and stopped the war that are in the world can begin.

This is the important information that all mankind should learn better from schools.

As for automation; it will be used in the future but it will not have a decisive role.

We will continue to have hand crafted goods, but manual labour will be easier and not more than 3-5 hours per day.
